We <3 these chocolate orange truffle hearts! @simply__steff has done it again with these lovely treats!
Ingredients:
-
JOY OF ENJOY orange chocolate
-
Dates (soaked in water or a spiced herbal infusion)
-
Orange essence
-
Cacao powder
-
Chopped almonds
-
Raisins (soaked in water or a spiced herbal infusion)
Method:
-
Start by washing, pitting and soaking the dates and raisins in boiling water (you can add a 'chai' or spiced herbal infusion to this water as the fruit will absorb some of the flavour)
-
After about ten minutes of soaking, discard the liquid and add the dates and raisins to a strong mixer
-
Blend until a sticky paste forms
-
Add the almonds, orange essence and cocoa powder (start with a couple of tablespoons and play around with the quantities, as some may prefer a more intense chocolate taste) and blend everything together until it all clumps together and peels away from the sides of the mixer.
-
Once you are happy with your truffle mixture, shape into small hearts and leave to set for half an hour in the fridge (or freezer- this will make it easier to coat in chocolate)
-
Melt your chocolate, get the truffle hearts from the fridge and coat each one in the melted chocolate.
-
Leave to set on a tray in the fridge and once set- Enjoy!
