Raw chocolate is becoming increasingly popular in the UK amongst discerning chocolate lovers who are looking for an alternative chocolate without compromising on taste.
Most commercially available chocolate is made from cocoa powder that has been produced by roasting cocoa beans to very high temperatures. However, our raw chocolate is made from powder and butter which comes from cacao beans that have been naturally dried and cold pressed (not roasted!). In fact, when we make Enjoy Raw Chocolate we never heat the ingredients above 42˚C, which allows the nutrients to remain intact.
When is Cocoa “Cacao”?
The raw beans, powder and butter are known as cacao.
Only when the beans are roasted in conventional chocolate do they become cocoa.
